Un tutorial muy sencillo para hacer unos lobos de forma rápida y con un buen resultado.

A very simple tutorial for doing some wolfs in a fast and good looking way.

Como siempre, partimos de una foto o un dibujo previo.
En este caso me he inspirado (o mejor dicho, he copiado) esta miniatura, por cierto muy molona.

As allways, we start with a picture or a drawing.
In this case I'd been inspired (or better said I copied) from this mini, very cool by the way.

Con Macromedia flash dibujamos lo que queremos, insisto en que no soy bueno dibujando, pero para el ejemplo es suficiente.

With Macromedia flash we draw wath we want, I insist I'm not good at drawing, but for this example is enough.

Para lobos, caballos, y demás animales de 4 patas, necesitamos 2 dibujos, izquierda y derecha, con un cambio en la pata delantera para darle un efecto de movimiento.

For Wolfs, horses, and other 4 legged animals, we need 2 pictures, left, and right, with a change in the front leg for a movement effect.

Los insertamos en Sketchup y creamos una superficie plana desde la que trabajar.

We insert them on sketchup and create a plane surface to work with.

Lo primero es colocar ambas imágenes enfrentadas.

First thing is to put both images side by side.

Después dibujamos la silueta, no tiene que ser perfecto.

Then we draw the silluete, doesn't hace to be perfect.

Recortamos lo que nos sobra y vamos dando forma al lobo.
Vamos a dar un corte horizontal a la imagen a la altura de la boca del lobo, esto será la parte que queremos que esté vertical.

We cut the rest and we shape the wolf.
We are going to give a parallel cut to the horizon, to the picture, in the mouth of the wolf, this will be the part we want to be straight up.

Duplicamos la parte inferior del cuerpo en ambos lados, para que se vean las patas con textura tanto por fuera como por dentro.

We clone the inferior part of the body, on both sides, so the legs have textures outside and inside.

Ahora giramos la parte inferior del cuerpo, dejando la cabeza vertical.
Yo uso la dimensión más pequeña de la herramienta girar de Sketchup, 15º.

Now we rotate the inferior body, leaving the head straight up, I use the smallest dimension of the Sketchup tool rotate, 15º.

Colocamos ambas partes y ya tenemos el lobo terminado.

We put both sides together, and we have the wolf finished.

Ahora solo hay que clonar los lobos hasta la cantidad deseada.

Now we can clone as many wolfs as we want.

El último paso es el más pesado, girar cada pieza y colocarlas a tu gusto, para imprimirlas.

Last step, is the most boring, rotate each piece at your will, so it's ready for printing.

Estos lobos son parte del proyecto de Battle Masters Resurection que poco a poco iré actualizando, según tenga tiempo libre.

This wolfs are part of the Battle Masters Resurection project, that I'll be posting sooner or later depending of my free time.

Bolsa de dados de cota de malla, Chainmail dice bag

No solo de armaduras vive el templario, también necesitan bolsitas para llevar sus dados a las partidas de dragones y sarracenos, y como soy todo un maestro cotamalleador me he puesto a fabricar y a vender un montón de bolsitas para dados a todo el que quiera.
Bueno, bonito y barato.

Battle Masters; Resurrection

Mi buen amigo Lord, ha encontrado en la basura esta caja de Battle Master, bastante estropeada, cual fue su sorpresa al abrirla y encontrar bastantes piezas del propio juego, y como es todo un caballero, me ha regalado la caja y su contenido (gracias Lord).

My good friend Lord, has found on the garbage this Battle Masters box, quite ruined, he got a good surprise when he opened it, as he found many pieces of the game, and since he is a gentleman he has given the box to me as a present (thanks Lord).

Me da bastante pena ver juegos tirados en la basura, sobretodo si son juegos chulos, afortunadamente aquí estamos para arreglar y recuperar del olvido este juego.

I feel very sad when I see games on the gargabe, especially if those are nice games, fortunatelly I'm here to fix and recover this game from oblivion.

Que es Battle Masters?
Básicamente es un juego de estrategia para 2 jugadores ambientado en el mundo de Heroquest.
Cada jugador maneja 1 ejercito (Imperio y Caos), y luchan hasta acabar con el ejército del contrario.
Para los jugadores de warhammer, es un PREwarhammer, muy simplificado.

What is Battle Masters?
Bassically it's a strategy game for 2 players, set in the world of Heroquest.
Each player gets an army (Empire and Chaos), and fight to destroy the other oponent's army.
For warhammer players, it's a PREwarhammer, very simple.

Independientemente de si me compro un juego o si recupero un juego de la basura, me encanta abrir las cajas para ver que contienen.

No matter if I buy a game or if I find a game on the garbage, I love to open boxes to see what is inside.

Ooooh, hasta parece que vamos a poder jugar y todo, de momento un montón de cosas varias.
¿Que clase de jugador friki tira este juego a la basura?, que lo manden azotar!

Ooooh, seems like we will be able to play after all, so far, lots of things.

El tablero está en perfectas condiciones... un poco arrugado, pero suficiente.
Nunca he jugado al Battle Masters, pero este tablero lo veo un poco... ¿repetitivo?

The board is in perfect conditions... a bit crumpled, but good so far.
Never played Battle Masters, but does this board seems a bit... repetitive?.

No está mal, no está nada pero que nada mal, hay bastante de todo, aunque faltan más de la mitad de las miniaturas.

Not bad, not bad at all, plenty of things of everthing, allthough more than half of the minis are missing.

Proyecto, cota de malla / Project, chainmail; PART 6 FINAL

¿Cuando se termina una cota de malla?, exactamente cuando se entrega en mano al cliente y este está contento con el resultado final.

When is a chainmail finished?, precisely when is given at hand to the client and he is happy with the final look.

Terminar una cota de malla, es siempre algo triste, por ver partir a tu creación con la que tantas horas has estado, pero también es un alivio por no tener que seguir haciendo anillas, y sobre todo es un sentimiento de orgullo por haber finalizado un proyecto de forma exitosa.

Finishing a chainmail, is allways a bit sad, to see going away your creation, which you had spent so many hours, but it's also a relief since you don't have to make anymore rings, but especially is a feeling of pride for a successfull work.

El último paso a la hora de hacer una cota de malla es siempre, ¿hasta donde tengo que seguir haciendo?.

Last step for finishing a chainmail es ¿how long will it be?

Básicamente un cilindro, desde los hombros, hasta la ingle.

Sin mangas.

Tiene además dos piezas especiales para reforzar el hombro

Basically a cylinder, from shoulders to groin.
No sleeves.

Opción 2: Hauberk
Option2: Hauberk

El hauberk es la cota clásica, la dimensión de largo puede ser a medio muslo o a rodilla.

lleva mangas, hasta el brazo, hasta el codo, o hasta el antebrazo.

Puede ir abierta en la ingle (para jinetes)

The hauberk is the classic chainmail, the long size can be to half thigh or to knee.
Has sleeves, to arm, or elbow, or forearm.
Can be opened in the groin (for mounting)

¿Por que el hauberk tiene tantas posibilidades?

Todo esto, son armaduras de recreación, no son funcionales, son 6 kilos de metal sorbe tu cuerpo para disfrazarte durante un rato, o para ir a un combate de softcombat.

Un hauberk puede ser exactamente como tú quieres que sea, más largo o más corto, más pesado o más ligero.

Why does the hauberk have so many different ways?

This, are recreation armors, not reals ones, those are 6 kilograms of metal over your body just for a costume, or for a softcombat game.
A hauberk can be as you want it to be, longer, or shorter, heavier, or ligther

Si bien en internet puedes encontrar información histórica sobre las dimensiones de las cotas de malla para que sean lo más fieles posibles, recuerda que las cotas de malla eran bastante caras, y solo los nobles podían permitírselas, haciéndoselas a medida.

In internet you can find historic info about the sizes of the chainmails, to make them as reliable as posible, remember that chainmails where a expensive armor, and only nobles could afford them.

Hombreras parte 3; Pauldrons part 3, FINAL

Bueno, estas hombreras se terminaron dos meses atrás, pero como soy un vago, no lo he puesto antes.

Well this pauldrons were finished two months ago, but since I'm lazy, I didn't update the blog.

Básicamente el final es lo más fácil, buscar unas tiras de cuero para unir las láminas entre sí, unas tiras con hebilla para ajustarlas al brazo, unas tiras un poco más gordas para hacer el punto de unión en el hombro y unos remaches resistentes.

Basically the final part is the easiest one, search for some leather strips to join the plates, some strips with buckles for the arm, and some bigger strips for the shoulder part, and some strong rivets.

Perforar la chapa es la parte complicada, cada chapa debe encajar dentro de la siguiente y el agujero aunque creas que debe de ir alineado según subes de lámina debes corregir 1 o 2 mm dado que la chapa se va superponiendo.

Drilling the plates is the tricky part, each plate must fit inside the next plate, and even if you think that the hole have to be in line with the previous one, you have to move it 1 or 2 mm to correct line the plates.

Tampoco conviene hacer los agujeros muy grandes ya que de otro modo la chapa tendrá mucho juego. El resultado tiene que ser flexible pero ajustado.

Also it's not good to make the holes too big, otherwise the plates will move a lot. The result must be flexible but tight.

Recuerda además que la chapa inferior tiene doble agujero, esto es para enganchar la correa que va alrededor del brazo.

Como remaches, compré unos clavos de cobre ya preparados, aunque me arrepiento un poco del resultado final como ya veréis.

Remmenber that the lower plate has doble hole, this is to put the strip that goes around the arm.

For the rivets, I bought some copper nails, but I regret the final result as I'll comment later.

Colocada la primera tira, ya nos vamos haciendo una idea de como va quedando, además se ve el efecto de los clavos de cobre, al tener la cabeza ya aplanada, no hay que darles acabado exterior, y el contraste de color queda bastante chulo.

With the first strip done, we make an idea of the final result, plus we see the look of the copper nails, since they have a flat head, there is no need for an exterior finish, and the contrast of the colour is pretty good.

El primer problema en el diseño fueron los clavos de cobre y los agujeros de las correas, si bien la idea prometía ser buena, los agujeros de las correas me quedaron excesivamente grandes y el clavo bailaba demasiado, y tuve que repetir varios remaches, incluso ya acabado no me ha convencido del todo el resultado final, pero ya lo cambiaré otro día.

The first problem with the desing was the copper nails and the holes in the strips, although the idea was good, the holes in the strips were quite biggers than expected and the nail didn't fit well, I had to repeat many rivets, even with the pauldrons finished I'm not fully convinced, but I'll change some other day.

Una vez colocado todo en su sitio ya solo queda pulir la superficie, cosa que tendrías que haber hecho ANTES de empezar a montar las hombreras, pero que como eres un impaciente como yo lo haces al final.

Once every part is on it's place, you just have to polish the surface, something you must have done it BEFORE mounting the plates, but since you are as impatient as me you do it last.

Y un buen rato después tirando de taladro te quedan unas hombreras brillantes listas para la batalla.

Some drilling later, you get a shiny pauldrons ready for battle.

Y poco más que contar, pongo un par de fotos más, las hombreras YA TERMINADAS, que da mucho placer terminar algo.

And no much more to say, I leave a couple of photos more, the pauldrons FINISHED, wich gives a lot of pleasure finishing something.

Como dijo Gandalf, un friki no llega tarde, ni pronto, llega precisamente cuando se lo propone.

Después de unas largas vacaciones, vuelvo del descanso para seguir publicando frikadas variadas, sobre todo aquellas que tenía a medio terminar y con la intención de publicar alguna que otra sorpresa.

After some long vacations, I'm back from restting to keep showing nerdy stuff, specially those wich I had half finished, and with the intention of showing some surprise.
