La verdad es que sobran palabras para este artista, su propia obra habla mucho mejor de él, momminiaturas se ha convertido automáticamente en la mejor marca de miniaturas para mi gusto.

Calidad excepcional, todo un lujo de detalles, y un estilo medieval puro hacen de estas minis una aunténtica pasada, y una necesidad en toda colección que se precie.

Su catálogo ya de por sí bastante nutrido aumenta poco a poco, pero merece la pena esperar para la próxima tanda sin lugar a dudas.

Finalmente, y por si esto fuera poco, un precio inmejorable.

Bosque para jugar / gaming forest

Llenar un tablero con escenografía es siempre muy agradecido y una de las cosas que mejor llena un tablero no son los edificios, sino la flora del terreno.

Filling a gameboard with scenography is allways very gratefull, and one of the things that best fills a gameboard are not buildings, but the flora of the terrain.

No hace mucho me compré un pack de 4 árboles (un poco caros) para añadir algún detalle más en las partidas. El caso es que después de una partida al Señor de los Anillos, me dí cuenta de que los árboles eran una mierda, la base era pequeña y no tenía apenas peso, por lo que se estuvieron cayendo casi toda la partida.

Not long ago I bought a 4 tree pack (a bit expensive) so I could add some detail in the games.
The point is that after a game of Lord of the Rings, I realized that the trees were shit, the base was small and withput weight, so they kept falling all the game.

Oh dioses! yo os maldigo por dejarme comprar unos árboles que se caen.

Oh gods! I curse you for letting me buy trees that fall.

En fin, tenía que buscar una solución, lo normal sería haber tirado los árboles y comprar unos nuevos, pero no soy persona de tirar cosas, de hecho todo lo contrario.

Oh well, I had to find a solution, the normal way would have been throwing the trees and buy new ones, but I'm not a person that throws things away, actually I'm the contrary.

Otra solución habría sido taladrar la base, y añadir un peso a los árboles, pero tras un vistazo a los árboles ví que efectivamente eran malos de narices, por lo que destruir su poca integridad física no iba a solucionar nada.

Another solution could have been drilling the base and adding some weight to the trees, but after taking a closer look to the tree I saw that thoose were really bad made, so destroying their little physical integrity was not going to help.

La única forma era hacer un sistema que sujetase la base para impedir que se cayesen, y si de paso se pudiese hacer que se pudiera retirar el árbol para poder medir distancias mejor que mejor.

The only way was to make a system that hold the base so the trees won't fall, and if it could also allow to take the tree away in order to measure distants better.

Dicho y hecho, una plancha de DM de 3mm que tenía guardada ¿no os he dicho que no tiro nada?, un boceto de un par de islas y las posiciones de los árboles.

Said and donde, a DM board 3mm thick I kept, didn't I told you I don't throw away anaything?, a skecht of a couple of islands and the positions of the trees.

Unos 20 minutos después tenía esto.
Dos piezas sin forma aparente con dos agujeros cada una para colocar los árboles.

20 minutes later I had this.
Two pieces with no shape in particular with two holes each to put the trees.

Parece que iba por buen camino, pero faltaba algo, no sabia que era pero algo no estaba bien del todo.

Seems like I was on the right direction, but something was missing, I didn't knew what but something was not quite right.

Decidí añadir una capa de verde con goma eva, la cosa mejoraba y viendo que me gustaba el resultado, añadí una segunda capa de goma eva, creando unas curvas de nivel y... ooooh que bonito y sencillo.

I decided to add a green layer of eva foam, and the thing turn better, and seeing I liked it, I added a second layer creating level curves, and... ooooh how nice and easy.

1 hora y media de trabajo, y los árboles ya están listos para mis próximas partidas del señor de los anillos, la ventaja de este sistema es que las islas-arbol pueden acercarse o separarse para dar sensación de más o menos frondosidad, y que puedes retirar los árboles para mover o medir distancias sabiendo en todo momento donde tienes que volver a dejarlos.

One hour and half of work, and the trees are ready for my next games of The Lord of the Rings, the good thing is that the trees-islands, can be put closer or away to create a feeling of more or less leafy, and that you can take the trees so you can measure distances knowing where you have to put them back.

Reparando minis / repairing minis (tutorial)

Cuan triste es ver una mini rota, ese mago con el bastón partido en dos, que sabes que ya nunca volverá a lanzar hechizos como antes, y si el mago es Gandalf entonces la tristeza es infinita.

How sad is to see a broken mini, that wizard with his staff broken in two, you know hw'll never be able to throw spells as he used to, and if that wizard is Gandalf then the sadness is infinite.

Aprovechando las Castilla y Dragón 3º edición, he comprado el pack de "Las minas de Moria" a un precio MUY barato, razón o motivo, el destrozo de 2 de sus minis, Gandalf con el bastón y la espada rota, y Aragorn sin un brazo.

While in the Castilla y Dragón 3º edition, I bought the "mines of Moria" pack for a VERY cheap price, reason o motive, the rip off of two of it's minis, Gandalf with the staff and the sword broken, and Aragorn without an arm.

La verdad es que da penita verlos. De cualquier modo, como vuestro humilde servidor es mañoso y tiene tiempo de ocio infinito nada mejor que una tarde de reparar miniaturas.

True is, it's really sad to look at them. Anyway, since this humle servant is handy, and has infinite spare time, nothing better than an afternoon for repairing minis.

Empezamos de momento con el fácil, Gandalf.

Let's start with the easy one, Gandalf.

Necesitas, un cutter, un par de alfileres, un mechero, resina bicomponente, una lija de grano fino y unos alicates pequeños.

You'll need a cutter, a pair of pins, a lighter, two component resin, thin grain sandpaper and some small pliers.

Lo primero es lijar el punto de rotura, hasta dejarlo lo más plano posible.

First sand down the broke point, in order to left it as flat as possible.

Con el mechero calentamos la punta de un alfiler hasta que esté al rojo. Como siempre, en estos casos cuidado con quemarse, y peor, con prender fuego a la casa.

With the lighter heat on the tip of the pin until it goes red. As allways, in this caes take care not to burn yourself , or worst burn down the house.

Con el alfiler en rojo, lo clavamos en el punto de rotura, intentando que siga la línea de, en este caso, del bastón.

With the pin in red, stick it into the broken point, trying to continue the line, in this case, of the staff.

Mezclamos la resina bicomponente, y hacemos una tira muy muy fina, cuanto más fina mejor.

We mix the resin, and make a very thin line, the thiner the better.

La vamos enrollando con cuidado sobre el alfiler, como muestra la foto.

we roll it carefull over the pin, as the photo shows.

Afortunadamente el bastón de Gandalf el gris es de forma leñosa, por lo que no tenemos por qué darle un detalle preciso, basta con un tirón por aquí y por allá.

Luckly, Gandalf the grey's staff is woody shaped, so we don't need to add much detail, with a push and a pull over there and there is enough.

La espada es un poco más complicada, pero no mucho más. Repetimos el proceso del alfiler, calentamos, clavamos y enrollamos la resina.

The sword is a little bit more complex, but not much. We repeat the pin process, heat, stick, and roll.

La resina que uso endurece aproximadamente a la hora por lo que recomiendo hacer este paso cuando esté empezando a endurecer.

The resin I use, gets hard in about an hour, so I recommend to do this step when it's getting hard.

Con la resina ya endureciéndose, vamos con los alicates aplastando poco a poco en la dirección de la espada, hasta chocar con el alfiler.

Esto tiene dos objetivos, formar una masa resistente para la masilla y preparar el hueco de la espada.

With the resin getting hard, we use the pliers smashing bit by bit in the direction of the sword, until you get into the pin.

This has two reasons, create a resistant mass and preparing the hollow of the sword.

Ahora con los alicates de nuevo, vamos apretando en el sentido de la hoja, para formar ese hueco interior de la espada, pero no demasiado. Además vamos dando la forma final a la espada.

Now with the pliers again, we keep smashing in the way of the blade, in order to make the interior hollow of the sword, but not too much. Also we give the sword the final aspect.

Esperamos a que la resine termine de endurecer y con la lija vamos dando la forma definitiva a la espada, cuanto más invirtamos en este punto mejor quedará la espada.

We wait until the resin is hard, and with the sandpaper we beging giveing the final shape, the more time we spend in this part the better it will look.

Finalmente pintamos un poco, y listo, ya tenemos a Gandalf listo para matar orcos, al menos hasta que aparezca un Balrog.

Finally some paint, and ready, Gandalf is ready for killing orcs, at least until a Balrog appears.

high elf mage conversion part2

Ya tenemos el mago casi en su resultado final.
Ahora solo nos falta un libro de hechizos, un bastón de mago, la daga y la tiara.
Aunque la primera foto es muy mala, se puede hacer una idea de como se ha hecho el libro.

We have the mage almost in it's final result.
Now there are missing a spellbook, a mage staff, the dagger, and the tiara.
The first picture is pretty bad, but you can get the idea of how the book was made.

Hecho el libro, y preparado el brazo nos cercioramos de que todo encaja bien.

With the book done, and the arm prepared we check everything fits together nicely.

La cosa marcha, vamos con la siguiente fase, pintar el libro y dejarlo ya listo.

Things are going out great, lets get the next phase, painting and finishing the book. 

Básicamente he pintado el exterior del libro estilo cuero viejo, y las páginas como que tienen algo de texto, como fallo, el texto lo he pintado en plata, y apenas se ve.
Aparte, la pieza que hace de cierre del libro era muy débil y se ha roto, pero al final la he aprovechado como marca páginas.

Basically I painted the exterior of the book in an old leather style, and the pages have something writen on it, as a faliure, the text was painted in silver so you can't barely see it.
Besides, the piece that close the book was rather weak and has broke, but I managed to use it as a page marker.

Es momento de pegar y pintar el brazo del bastón.

time to glue and paint the staff arm.

Y eso es todo, nuestro mago está terminado, no pensaba que fuera a quedar tan bien (dejando a un lado la pintura).

And that's all, our mage is finished, I dind't figure it will come out so well (leaving the painting aside).

VUELTA A PARTE 1/ BACK TO PART 1

Normalmente no suelo tener ni tiempo ni ganas de hacer conversiones, pero de vez en cuando me viene un poco de inspiración y me pongo a ello.

Usually I don't have neither the time or the will to make conversions, but there are times when inspiration hits me and I get on to it.

Vamos a convertir un lancero Alto Elfo en un mago.

Como no estoy seguro del resultado final, he decidido hacer todo usando piezas duplicadas de los lanceros, por si las moscas.

Let's convert a High Elf spearman into a mage.

Since I'm not sure of the final result, I decided to do everything using duplicates of the spearmen.

oyumaru, poder clonador

Empezamos con el cuerpo de un lancero.

Podría haber escogido unas piernas sin armadura de escamas, pero me parece que incluso un mago no debería ir sin algo de protección mínima a la batalla, por lo que me parece mejor usar estas piernas.

Como no quiero que haya demasiado detalle en el torso, he optado por usar la coraza simple.

We start with a spearmen body.
I could have chossen legs without the scale mail, but I think that even a mage should not go to a battle without a minimun of protection, so I belive this legs are better.
Since I don't want too many detail on the chest, I had choose the simple plate.

De momento vamos a estudiar que queremos hacer, en mi cabeza lo tengo claro, un cinturón con una gema, una capa ochentera y una bolsa en el cinturón.

Esto es solo un boceto, útil para ir pensando que queremos hacer y como puede quedar.

For now let's study what we want to do, in my head is pretty clear, a belt with a gem, an eighties cloak, and a bag on the belt.

This is just a sketch, useful for looking forward what we want and how it will be.

No voy a poner el proceso de trabajo al completo ya que una foto de unos dedos modelando piezas muy pequeñas de masilla me parece poco interesante.

I'm not going to post the full work process, a picture with fingers modeling very small pieces seems very little interesting.

Como no me gusta pintar las miniaturas ya montadas ya que luego no llego bien con el pincel, he dejado la capa para más tarde.

Since I don't like to paint the minis when they are glued because I don't reach with the brush, I left the cloak for later.

De momento ya tenemos el cuello ochentero (muy importante) un cinturón con su gema, una bolsita, y un pequeño detalle de piedra en la peana.

For now we have the eighties neck (very important), a belt with it's gem, a bag, and a little stone detail on the base.

Soy un pintor bastante regulero, pero por si a alguien le interesa.

Blanco para todo lo que vaya a ser tela.

Una capa base de azul gris para el jubón, y una capa de azul intenso para rematar.

la armadura tiene una capa de pincel seco de oro, incluidas las hombreras.

el cinturón tiene una capa base de morado imperial con sucesivas capas de morado mezclado con blanco (cada vez más) hasta alcanzar un lila.

La gema tiene una capa de verde esmeralda (sin terminar)

Las cuerdas de la capa tienen un marrón cuero, y los enganches plata mithril y oro.

White for everything that is going to be cloth.

A grey blue base for the chest, and a intense blue for finish.

The armor has a gold dry brush, so the pauldrons.

The belt has an imperial purple base, with following layers of the same purple with white (each more) until reaching a lilac tone.

the gem has a green emerald (not finished)

the bag has a flesh base, and a final brown dye for a leather shape.

the belt strings has a dye of the same brown.

The cloak strings has a brown leather, and the hooks are mithril silver and gold.

Vamos a por la capa, por ser una pieza mayor la voy a explicar un poco.

Lets go for the cape, since it is a larger piece I shall explain it a bit.

El proceso es simple, coger un buen cacho de masilla, darle una forma inicial (triangular) y vamos estirando poco a poco (recomiendo echar aceite donde extendemos para que no se quede pegada).

The process is simple, get a good piece of putty, give it a initial shape (triangular) and we start stretching it bit by bit (I recommend droping a layer of oil so the putty doesn't get sticky).

Cuando tenemos más o menos la forma deseada recortamos los bordes para acentuar aún más la forma, en este caso he optado por una capa clásica acabada en dos puntas.

When we have more or less the shape, we cut the edges to emphasize even more the shape, in this case I decided to make a classic two pointed cape.

Colocamos la capa justo debajo del cuello y vamos poco a poco aplastando esa parte contra la miniatura. (recomiendo usar un poco de plastilina para apoyar la miniatura).

We put the cape just below the neck and we start smashing the putty againts the mini. (I recommend using a little clay for resting the mini).

Yo soy un poco chapucero, y uso los pinceles para algunos detalles, usar herramientas de modelado os hará la vida más fácil.

I'm a little sloppy, and I use the brush for detailing, using the proper tools for modeling will make your life much easier.

Ahora es cuestión de doblar la capa un poco para darle un efecto de tela.

En mi caso doblar las puntas hacia dentro le da mucho más efecto de movimiento.

Now it's a matter of bending the cape a little for a cloth effect.

In may case bending the points inside gives a better move effect.

Para dar efecto de viento, utilizo la plastilina para apoyar la miniatura del lado deseado, de esa forma la gravedad hará todo el trabajo. (recordar que la caida del viento tiene que ser igual que la caida del cinturón (u otro elemento que hayáis hecho).

Mientras esperamos vamos haciendo nuevas piezas, el brazo izquierdo, un emblema para el bastón una daga (opcional) y la cabeza.

For a wind effect, I use the clay for resting the mini to the desire side, this way the gravity will do all the work. (remenber that the fall of the wind have to be the same fall as the belt (or other piece you had made).

While we wait we make more pieces, the left arm, a badge for the staff, a dagger (optional), and the head.

Como no me gusta demasiado la posición del brazo, he añadido un poco de masilla extra para que el brazo sobresalga un poco más, y he cortado la mano para poder girarla 90º, para poder poner más tarde algo encima, seguramente un libro de hechizos.

Since I don't like much the position of the arm, I added a little of extra putty so the arm stands out a bit more, and I cutted the hand so I could turn it 90º, in order to put something on top, probably a spell book.

Insisto que el pintado no es mi fuerte, pero ya va quedando un mago bastante decente.

En la próxima entrega terminaré el brazo izquierdo, añadimos el brazo del bastón y añadimos una diadema al mago.

I insits that painting is not my thing, but it's turning into a quite decent mage.

Oyumaru tutorial, poder clonador ( clonning power)

He comprado y he empezado a usar el Oyumaru, y antes de decir nada más, hay que reconocer que es un gran invento para hacer manualidades.

So I bought and started using Oyumaru, and before saying anything more, It's a great invention for crafting.

Antes de continuar, debo decir que clonar miniaturas con copyright es de alineamiento caótico maligno, y no deberías hacerlo, o irán a tu casa los marines para detenerte. Ya lo sabes, chico o chica, clonar es malo, y nunca jamás de los jamases deberías hacerlo, este es un tutorial sobre como NO debes usar este producto con tus miniaturas.
Before going on, I must say that clonning copyright minis is chaotic evil alignment and you shouldn't do it, or else, the marines will go to your house to arrest you. So you know it, boy or girl, clonning is bad, and you never ever should do it, this is a tutorial about how NOT to clone minis.

Oyumaru, NO compres este producto, porque se puede usar para clonar miniaturas con copyright.
Oyumaru, DON'T buy this product, because it can be used for clonning copyright miniatures.

NO cojas masilla epoxi (masilla de 2 colores) para clonar piezas, y las pongas cerca del Oyumaru.

DON'T take modelling putty for clonning, and put it close to the Oyumaru.

NO cojas piezas de lego (sobre todo si no son de lego) para hacer un encofrado para el molde, a fin de que salga mucho mejor.

DON'T take lego pieces (especially if they are not lego) for building a formwork, so it will be better.

NO hagas un primer intento de clonar con una pieza simple, como por ejemplo una peana cuadrada.
DON'T start with an easy piece when clonning, like a square base.

NO prepares un set de cutters ni pongas la mesa libre para empezar a clonar.
DON't prepare a set of cutters, and leave de table free for starting clonning.

Si NO has hecho esto, no hace falta decirte que NO continúes midiendo el encofrado de lego (no es de lego), con la pieza que NO vas a clonar.

If you have not done this, then there is no need to tell you to DON'T continue measuring the lego formwork (not lego), with the piece you are NOT going to clone.

Por supuesto NO cierres el encofrado para clonar la pieza.

Of course DON'T close the formwork for clonning the piece.

No pongas un poco de plastilina en las esquinas del encofrado a fin de que el molde que NO vas a hacer encaje mejor y salga mejor.

DON't put some modeling clay on the squares of the formwork, for the mold you are NOT going to do, fits better.

No cojas las barritas de Oyumaru y las viertas sobre agua caliente, ya que esto hará que las barritas sean fáciles de moldear con la mano y hasta que se puedan usar para clonar miniaturas.

DON'T take the Oyumaru bars and drop them on hot water, since that will make them easy to mold by hand and even you may use them for clonning.

Sobra decir que NO debes coger la barrita con la forma aproximada del encofrado y la presionarás con fuerza dentro del mismo, pues la barrita cogerá la forma de la pieza y NO quieres eso.

There is no need to tell you that you should NOT take the bar with the aproximated shape of the formwork, and press it hard inside ir, because that way it will take the shape of the piece, and you DON'T want that.

No esperes un par de minutos a que se enfríe la silicona, y NO repitas el mismo proceso por el otro lado, a fin de cerrar el molde.

DON'T wait a pair of minutes to the mold to cold down, and DON'T repeat the proccess on the other side, closing the mold.

Como NO habrás llegado a este punto, no hace falta decir que ya tienes el molde que NO querías tener terminado.

Since you may NOT come to this point, there is no need to tell you that you already have the mold you did NOT wanted.

Es posible que aún no te hayas dado cuenta, pero por si acaso insistiré. NO cojas un pincel y aceite (de cocina), mojes el pincel y extiendas aceite por toda la superficie del molde, pues esto hará que el clon quede mucho mejor.

It's possible that you may not notice, but I'll insist. DON'T take a brush and oil (kitchen oil), dip the brush on it, and spread the oil all over the surface of the mold, because that will make the clon way much better.

Espero que NO midas la cantidad de masilla a usar a ojo, para no usar demasiada y que el clon quede mal.

I hope you DON'T measure the amount of modelling putty, so you don't use too much, and so the clone may end bad.

No debes mezclar la masilla de dos colores en cantidades del 50-50, pues eso hace que se pueda usar para clonar miniaturas. Tampoco la pongas dentro del molde y aprietes con fuerza, donde notarás que el aceite que NO has usado la hace extenderse más fácilmente.

DON'T mix the modelling putty in 50-50 amount, because that way, it can be used for clonning. Neither put it inside the mold and press hard, where you'll notice that the oil that you DIDN'T used before make it to spread much easily.

Como NO has vertido aceite, no hace falta que abras el molde sin problema ya que no se quedará pegada la masilla, y NO recortarás la masilla sobrante.

Since you have NOT spread oil, there ir no need to open the mold without trouble since the putty will not be sticky, and you will NOT cut the excess putty.

NO repitas esa parte las veces que haga falta, hasta que tengas la masilla justa dentro del molde, o el clon quedará muy bien. Tampoco lo dejes reposar usando una pinza para hacer presión.

DON'T, repeat this part asmany times as neccessary, until you have the exact amount of putty inside the mold, or the clone will be much better. Neither leave it alone with a pincer for putting preasure.

NO esperes 1-2 horas hasta que la masilla quede bien dura para poder desencofrar, o tendrás un clon casi perfecto.

DON'T wait 1-2 hours until the putty is hard enough so you can unformwork, or you will get an allmost perfect clone.

Finalmente, NO utilices esta técnica para clonar miniaturas al completo, o partes de miniaturas que hayas podido perder o romper. Espero que nunca jamás hagáis lo que NO habéis aprendido aquí.

Finnally, DON'T use this tecnic for clonning complete miniatures, or parts of miniatures you may have lost, o broke. I hope that you never ever do what you have NOT learn here.
