Since we have our template done, and we have make sure that it's our size, and it has the shape we want, we can start the second part.

Paso 2: Recortando el cuero./cutting the leather

Cutting leather is really easy, just be sure of a couple of things.

Yo have a base for cutting in order to not spoil the table.

A GOOD sharp cutter. Here some expertice on recreation armor, and leatherworking will start to get nervous.
-"NOOOO, YOU HAVE TO USE AN ESPECIAL KNIFE!!!"

Let's forget those boring people, I recommend using a curved shaped blade, if you can get one.

A long ruler will be great, and a thin marker for marking the lines too.
-"NOOOO, YOU HAVE TO USE A PENCIL"
-"Yes, yes, smartpants".

Mark with the marker the lines with the help of the template.
-"USE A PENCIL!"
-"Shut up!".

When you cut the leather, do it smoothly, bit by bit, if you have to pass several times (you'll have to do it) do it, don't be in a hurry.

Finish to cut the leather, and get rid of any fuzz that may still be.
For a pieces like the greaves, and if you use my template, I recommend using some curved ruler, I do everything free hand, because I'm cool.

Paso 3: Dando forma al cuero/ shaping the leather

For those who don't know, the leather is skin, I'm telling this to all the kids who thinks that the milk comes from the supermarket.
And as a skin, it can be shaped, you just have to immerse it for about a minute in hot water, but not boiling (we'll talk about this later on).

When you have the leather soaked, put it over a mold so it can get the desired shape, and let it dry for a day or so.

I used a simple Cola bottle, some other dimensions cans and tape, to give it the diameter I wanted.

Once dry, the leather keeps it shape (sorcery!).

I read in some blog, that you can put the leather with the mold inside an oven for getting it dry.... I think that's a waste of electricity, specially living in Spain and doing this on August. Above everything kids, don't use the oven without the supervision of an adult.

Bot more to say about this part, cut, soak, mold, let dry.

If you have used a marker por marking the lines, you can take it off with alcohol, just pour some drops and erase it with the finger, but don't press to mucho or you can leave a mark.

Don't mind if you get some ink rests, this is going to be resolve at the end of the process.
